The Horrible Statistics

Child Solidiers are being used in over 36 countries worlwide! I have tried so many times to picture what being a child soldier would feel like but its way beyond what i could ever even imagine. To think that there are children out there under the age of even 10 fighting in a war at this moment breaks my heart, some are as young as 5!! An estimate of 200,00 to 300,000 kids are serving for both rebel group and government forces! Child soldiers are given drugs to help them cope there emotions. This is obviously a huge problem and you can help!

What ever happened to childhood?

To this day many children are still looking for long lost families. These children have been through horrific trauma. From living in harsh conditions, to destroying villages, and even helping kill other kids who have disobeyed. Now after being freed, most are left with nothing. Some have missing limbs, along with homes and families. Their childhood and memories of their families is all many have left, struggling to survive as a kid in this harsh reality. Can you imagine living a normal life, and then being abducted, tortured, and forced to serve in a war. Maybe only at the age of four... That's exactly the kind of cruelty these children had to face. Now this is all they are left with. They will never forget how much this has changed their lives. Dreams for the future put on hold, and there childhood left behind.

Children at War

Approximately 300,000 children are at war as we speak. More and more children every day are being used as child soldiers because they are so easily manipulated. The rebels use them to clear landmines, not caring weather there life is in danger or not, and also use them as human shields. Young boys are forced to burn villages and torture and kill neighbors. Abducted girls are often raped and become sex slaves. These children are to young to understand there actions and desperately need help.
